Information and Assistance
Information and Assistance is a telephone or walk-in service designed to answer questions from the general public on the needs of the elderly and to link people in need with appropriate service.
The Information and Assistance Services Unit strives to increase awareness of COSA sponsored programs and related services available to meet the needs of adults age 60 and older in Delaware County. COSA maintains an updated resource file of programs, services, activities, resources, benefits, and entitlements.
Apprise Health Insurance Counseling
APPRISE Health Insurance Counseling is a free health insurance counseling program designed to help persons aged 60 and older as well as those under age 60 on Medicare with health insurance concerns regarding Medicare, Medicare Part D, Medicare Supplemental Insurance, Medicare HMOs, Medicare Assistance, and Long-term Care Insurance.

Trained counselors answer questions about benefits, explain confusing forms, and help file appeals to rejected claims.
Crime Victim Services
Crime Victim Services assists those seniors who have been a victim of crime in Delaware County by providing counseling, accompaniment to medical and court appointments, assistance in filing for State Crime Compensation claims, and referrals for other appropriate community services.
Legal Services
Legal Services provides assistance with legal problems such as benefits, entitlements, wills, living wills, power of attorney, property tax/ rent rebates, PACE applications, nursing home issues, and grandparent rights.
COSA contracts with Legal Aid of Southeastern Pennsylvania to provide legal representation for non-criminal and/ or non-profit cases such as bankruptcy and housing problems. COSA also provides referrals to private pay attorneys.
Prime-Time Health Education
The Prime-Time Health Education Program is a series of programs and activities for older adults interested in maintaining or achieving a healthy lifestyle. The Prime-Time Health coordinator works with area hospitals and health care providers to address topics such as healthy cooking, exercising, medication management, health screening, safety, and talking openly with your physicians.
