APPRISE available to assist during Medicare Open Enrollment October 15-December 7
The annual Medicare Open Enrollment period begins on October 15 and continues until December 7. For 2020 coverage, open enrollment will run from October 15, 2019 to December 7, 2019.
During the annual enrollment period (AEP), you can make changes to various aspects of your coverage. It is important to review your coverage for the upcoming year as there may be changes with premiums, copays, medications covered, and providers in network. Be sure to review the "Annual Notice of Change" sent to you by your insurance provider.
During Medicare Open Enrollment:
- You can switch from Original Medicare to Medicare Advantage, or vice versa.
- You can switch from one Medicare Advantage plan to another, or from one Medicare Part D (prescription drug) plan to another.
- And if you didn't enroll in a Medicare Part D plan when you were first eligible, you can do so during general open enrollment, although a late enrollment penalty may apply.
